Another Flat

I managed to join the Wednesday night ride, and I got another flat. I seem to get one every third ride or so lately. It may be time to get new tires.

An Early Half-Century

The Frederick Pedalers actually got a ride in yesterday.  Scheduled rides have been falling victim to the weather all spring. Since it seemed like it might not rain  for a few hours, eleven people showed up to try out a new route that went up into Pennsylvania and then  returned to Emmitsburg from the north. It was chilly when we left, and my hands were cold for about an hour. The weather warmed as the ride went on, and the wind never got too bad. It was not a perfect day to ride, but about as good as it has been lately.

I ended up doing 52 miles in just over four hours. This is by far the earliest in the season  that I have done a fifty mile ride, and I was sore and tired when I got home. If I can get a few more miles this week, I may start getting into decent riding shape. The forecast looks reasonable for Wednesday and Thursday. I doubt that I will be ready for the Spring Century scheduled for April 27.

One Last Ride for March

March has not been a good month for me to ride. Snow, rain, travel, and a cold have all kept me from making rides that I had planned. I got out today for only the third time this month. The weather was nice, about 60 degrees with light winds. Thanks to daylight saving time, I was able to go out at 5:00 PM after I had finished all of my errands. I got in 20 miles.

There is a club ride scheduled for tomorrow but the forecast is for rain.
