January Wrapup

I leave town on Tuesday so I do not expect to ride again this month. However, it has been a good start to year for me. I have ridden six times for 152.6 miles. Last year I rode 85 miles in January and in 2006 I rode only 16 miles. Of course in 2006 I [...]

Night Rider

Several times a year my desire to ride overwhelms my dislike of riding at night. Tonight was one of those nights.  The weather during the day was clear with a high in the upper 30s. It was a perfectly reasonable day to ride. By the time I got to the ride start it was about [...]

I ended [...]

New Year’s Day Ride

The only proper way to start the year is with a bike ride. The Frederick Pedalers had one today and eleven riders showed up. The weather was sunny and not too cold. If not for the 20-30 mph wind blowing from the west it would have been a great day to ride. We fought the [...]

End of the Year Summary

With a 20 mile ride today, I ended up with 2271 miles which is over 300 miles fewer than last year. I did not do a century this year. The only positive achievement for the year will be riding in every month. My lowest month was 40 miles in February with two rides, including my [...]
